COOKIES
WHAT IS A COOKIE?
Cookies are small files that certain platforms, such as websites, may install on your computer. Their functions can be very varied: they allow us to store your browsing preferences, collect statistical information, allow certain technical features, etc.
Sometimes, cookies are used to store basic information about the browsing habits of the User or his computer, up to the point of being able to recognize it as the case may be. Cookies are also used to manage the User’s session, reducing the number of times it is necessary to enter the password or to adjust the contents of the website to the User’s preferences.
Cookies can be “temporary”, that is, they are deleted from the User’s computer once the User leaves the website that generates them, or “persistent”, that is, cookies that remain in the User’s computer until a certain date.
If you have an account and log on to this site, a temporary cookie will be created to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. It does not contain any personal data and will be deleted automatically when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will set a number of cookies to save your login information and screen preferences. The lifetime of a login cookie is two days, and the lifetime of a screen option cookie is one year. If you check “Remember me”, your cookie will be stored for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the cookie will be deleted.
By editing or posting an article, an additional cookie will be stored in your browser. This cookie does not contain any personal data. It simply indicates the identifier of the article you have just modified. It expires after one day.
WHAT ARE COOKIES AND HOW DOES TMCE USE THEM?
Under its own responsibility or that of a third party hired to provide tracking services, TMCE may use cookies when a user browses the Web. Cookies are files sent to the browser through a web server in order to record the user’s activities during the time he or she is browsing.
The use of cookies allows the server where the web is located to recognize the web browser used by the user in order to make browsing as easy as possible, allowing, for example, users who are already registered to access areas, services, which are exclusively reserved for them without having to register for each visit. Cookies are also used to measure the audience and traffic parameters, as well as to control the progress and number of entries.
Guarantees on the use of cookies
The cookies used by the website only associate themselves with anonymous users and their computers and do not provide references that allow the user’s personal data to be deduced.
Some cookies are used by third parties (e.g. Google) to transmit to TMCE data on the effectiveness of its promotions. Cookies do not, under any circumstances, obtain any personal information that can identify a particular user.
The cookies used on the web are, in any case, temporary in nature, with the sole purpose of making subsequent transmission more efficient. No cookie used on the Web will have a period of validity of more than two years.
Users have the possibility of configuring their browser to be notified of the receipt of cookies and to refuse installation on their device.
By eliminating or disabling cookies from TMCE, the user runs the risk of not being able to access certain web features.
In order to use the Web, users do not have to allow the installation of cookies, but they will have to restart the session as such in each of the services whose provision requires prior registration or session start.

HOW DOES TMCE COMPILE AND USE IP ADDRESSES?
Web servers will be able to automatically detect the IP address and domain name used by users.
An IP address is a number automatically assigned to a computer when it connects to the Internet. This information is used for the subsequent processing of data in order to obtain purely statistical measurements that allow us to know the number of visits made to the Web, the order of visits, the point of access, etc.
PROTECTION OF YOUR IP ADDRESS
We have implemented a tool to anonymize the IP addresses we collect for statistical purposes by a third party service, as required by the laws of the European Union.
EMBEDDED CONTENT FROM OTHER SITES
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles…). Content embedded from other sites behaves in the same way as if the visitor were visiting that other site.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed third-party tracking tools, track your interactions with such embedded content if you have an account logged into their website.
STATISTICS AND AUDIENCE MEASUREMENT
TMCE only uses Google Analytics to obtain statistics and audience measurements.
